Verify a CalmHandoff record

Every CalmHandoff export has a verification code. Enter it to confirm the export is genuine. Add the verification file to check that every entry is exactly as it was recorded, with nothing changed, added or removed.

The file is checked and discarded. We don't keep it.

How it works

Every message, calendar change and expense is written to an append-only record the moment it happens. Neither parent, and not CalmHandoff either, can edit or delete an entry.

Each entry carries a SHA-256 fingerprint calculated from its content and the fingerprint of the entry before it. Changing even one character, or removing or reordering an entry, produces different fingerprints from that point on. The verification file includes every entry and fingerprint, so anyone can re-check the math.

Verification confirms integrity. Whether a record is admitted as evidence is decided by the court.
